Toyota Camry? Your car's in parts in Mexico. Deal with it.
Amazing how so many people don't use simple prevention gadgets such as 'The Club' or brakelocks. Not 100%, but a thief is gonna go look for somethin' easier. Situational awareness seems to have escaped most here. Only 'Club' I see in parkin' lots is mine. We even use 'em in our own carport.

Can't you see this post is BS?!

Otherwise I agree about Camries. For some reason even the year matters. My old Camry was on top of the list of stolen cars for years. I've got a club, too.

Somebody actually stole an 85 Camry???!?? LMFAO. That is hilarious. That car is worth like $100.00. What on earth are they going to do with it?

Not that I believe the tale in the original post, but older cars get stolen for parts.

Sounds like something that would happen in the south Bronx where I teach. Teachers' cars are broken into all the time. You have to be a LOT more careful than that. And why in the world would you let someone drunk drive your car...

Cars are stolen for all kinds of reasons. Some for parts--even when they are old, some for joy riding, some to ship outside of the country, some just for the sake of doing it, some for insurance reasons, and ???

You also have those that break into cars to steal items from inside. That's why it isn't a good idea to leave eye candy in your car. (like a GPS, good stereo, laptop, digital camera, etc.)

Some are targets just because they are there. Some are easier than others. I think that anything you do to make your car more difficult than others is good. The Club can help, (although they are very easily removed--takes less than 1 minute if the theif is prepared) alarms help, I will be adding some of my own anti-theft devices to my project that should make it only a tow only. Most good theft deterant devices are known by professional theives so they know how to disable them. But if you add things that are not marketed, they will not know how to disable them.

I have had attempts on a few of my cars over the years but they were never able to drive away. (5 times that I can remember)
