Garage Storage? What items are OK? (cars, clothes, winter)

Well, it seems I brought too much stuff. Big surprise there! I was thinking of using some of the built in shelves in the garage. Other than the obvious - tools, cars, paint, etc., what is OK to keep and what is not. I imagine it gets upwards of 130-140 degrees?

Specifically:
"winter" clothes? - long sleeve shirts and pj's, etc. for the kids.
Records/LP's?
A huge slot car collection - cars and tracks.

What other kinds of household items can be safely put in the garage and what problems do I have to take into consideration besides the heat?

I think the clothes would be okay as long as they're in a pretty tightly-sealed container to keep moths (or other bugs out).

I'd try to keep the vinyls inside - they warp easily enough without a lot of heat.

We've got a lot of extra stuff in our garage. I even have a western saddle that I'm keeping in there for now. Our garage gets warm, but I don't think it gets 130 degrees.
