I sorta did... Guess I went too early - about 5:30. It was still in a "family" mode. I hadn't eaten since I was anticipating various food booths we always have at similar events. There was nothing but hot dogs...

Not even beer even though there was a "beer garden" to open later, I suppose. God forbid children know adults drink beer.
A few new galleries had managed to open for the event. I thought it was gonna be better attended and parked quite far away, but there was no real need for that... Probably would've stayed had I found at least one place downtown with a smoking section to have dinner at. Well, Congress is OK in that respect, but I'd gone there last week and didn't feel like going again. Downtown does look better. There IS hope perhaps... It took a few decades to ruin it, so I'm not holding my breath for having a vibrant downtown in my lifetime. Looks like there's an attempt going on to push loft living down there.
There was some music going on and kids were drawing on the asphalt... Half of the people around were the regulars at the bus station. Veeeery stimulating...

It probably was gonna get better later on, but I ran out of patience. Not very patient while hungry, so I went to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. Was hoping to hear better news about them opening an East-side location. Alas, so far it's just an idea, even though last time somebody mentioned a more concrete plan - somewhere around Craycroft. Guess at the rate businesses are folding now everybody is cautious about expanding.
