Question NJ to Az

Family of 5 with 3 boys (2 teens) considering move to AZ. Done with east coast winters. Coming from suburban area with easy access to NYC. Not sure now after reading forums. Is Tucson/Phoenix are going to compare?

We are from the western Chicago suburbs and can't wait to move. For us, two adults and 8 yo triplets, Tucson is very attractive. Besides the weather, it is very beautiful and very laid back and friendly. There are an almost endless amount of things to do outside and the prices are unbelivable cheap as compared to here. Here to go to the zoo it would cost us about $70 without even getting anything to eat or drink. For get going to a meseum. Try ave. $80-100 here. The most expensive place to go in Tucson is the bioshhere-2. ($20 adults $13 kids 6-13) Reid park zoo is $6 adults and 2 kids 2-14 and most things are priced like this.

Property taxes are very cheap too. (approx. 25-30% of what they are here) along with housing. For what our run down Cape Cod here on the Chicago suburbs is worth we could be living in a unbeliveably nice house in Tucson.

The city is surrounded by mountians and the Saguraro National Park and the sunsets are indescribable.

I know many people there talk bad about the city but it's all opinion. If you have not visited I suggest you go and spend some time there. That should help you to make up your mind.

I hope this helps.
