Reporting back!

I had an overall great day--thank you for great suggestions. I started out with some personal shopping, then grabbed a cup of coffee at X-Change Coffee (good but not stupedous), then headed over the Bookmans. Loved it! I absolutely love clean, well-organized used-bookstores! Found a great poetry book (10 Poems to Set You Free), a book with an analysis of Edward Abbey, a used Jack Johnson CD, and a book for my son (I guess I just told you a whole lot about myself!). It was very hard to stop at just that. As it is, I forgot to look for another book of poems from Robert Frost, and wished I looked for another poet, as well.

It was around lunchtime, but I had a late coffee break, so I headed toward the University. I stopped in at the main art gallery, but only the first floor with the sculpture exhibits was open. I was a little bummed, as I don't appreciate sculpture as much. I headed over to the Creative Photography building next. I had already found out that the Gothke exhibit was postponed, but their website said they had a collection of Ansel Adams. Unfortunately, it was very small and they didn't seem to be his best work. Although in the main gallery there were a couple interesting photos of Yosemite from the late 1800s (not Adams, of course). I then proceded to try to find the Frog and Firg. However, I did not even take note of the street it was on! So a half circumfrance of the college later, I found a Student Center and looked it up--the patio full of misters was a very welcomed sight! I had one of their veggie sandwiches and was very happy! I tend to look a little cynical on veggie sandwiches, but theirs was served on a big hoagie bun and toasted and was very hearty and good! Also had a good Raspberry-Stoli lemonade, which I haven't had in years.

From there, I went to the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon lounging and being a general bum. However, I did leave to go to Zemam's. It was the best choice! I definitely recommend you all go try it! It wasn't messy at all. The flat bread, injera, is like a slightly thicker crepe that is very tangy. The meal comes out on a large, silver platter that is lined with one big injera; you are served additional injera folded up on another plate. Really, I can't express how good it was and how filling. I got the veggie sampler (three items), and loved the lentil stew the most. The collard greens were very good, but they were too spicy for me (I'm a wimp, though).

The next day, I went to the Epic Cafe for lunch. I've had their quiche before and it was good, but the Cheddar-Green Chili quiche just didn't cut it. However, I was ecstatic to actually get coffee in an actual mug and not a paper one! And the flan was awesome.

That sums it up--thank you everyone!

As good as THAT Bookman's is, the one at Speedway and Wilmot is even more excellent! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's the only one I've been to. It's a great store.
