Got the smoker going with a big fat 9lb brisket... Texas A&M vs Army on the tube,... the Rincons in the background, and my Horns playing the Arkansas piggies later...

A good day.

Nice smoker, and nice view you have in your yard.

thanks i got lucky with the home/lot and we love it. i'm still learning to keep my temp pegged on the smoker but getting better. right now i added a couple of logs and it seems to not want to come back up above 200. i like to get to 225 and stay there. grr.

how are things going today?

I'm jealous

I'd like to be living in Tucson.

Even if I decided to make the move I couldn't right now because the housing market is sh$thouse right now. Probably have a hard time selling my place.

Yeah it's rough. We just left Texas last Nov and thought about just renting til the market bottomed out. It seems like Tucson hasn't been hit nearly as hard as Phx and Cali

Default Smokers

My brother in law has a smoker and he makes the best beef jerky. I can not stand the store bought kind ever since I had the "real" stuff. It's nice to see the picture of your backyard with the mountains in the backround. We lived in Tucson for 10 1/2 years. We've just moved back to Ohio. I do miss the Southwest but I like Ohio too.

i made some on accident yesterday.
the bottom 1/4 inch of my brisket was jerky-like, i had to trim it off. i think my temp just got too high once.
