Bisbee AZ?
My husband and I along with our daughter took a drive to Bisbee for the day this weekend. What a cute little town. My question...My husband and I were wondering if its worth going back and spending a weekend, Has anyone been there? Is there enough to do for a couple of days. Or is just a day trip enough. I have been on the website, but I would like to know if someone has actually been there.

I think just a day trip, personally. I live nearby and go to Bisbee a few times a month. I like looking in the shops, but it is tiring to do so with young children (I have a 5 and 2 y.o.). There is a mine tour that sounds interesting, but I haven't been on it. The mining museum was interesting, but I'm not sure if it is worth the $25 or dollars it would cost for your whole family. If you go back for a weekend, I would choose one with an event happening. Also, stop by the farmers' market (early in the morning) on Saturday, if you do.
Oh, I just saw that you are in Tucson. Perhaps you could eke out a weekend trip by going through Wilcox, spending most of one day around Wilcox and most of the other day in Bisbee. I hear great things about the Copper Queen Hotel, and Bisbee has some good restaurants. I would spend Saturday in Bisbee and Sunday in Wilcox/taking the scenic way home. That way, if you do find more you want to do in Bisbee, you can do it on Sunday as well, but if not, then you have a back-up plan. Or I suppose, you can come through Sierra Vista and go to the Memorial, hiking in the Huachuacas, go through Sonoita, etc.

What is with all this "to do," people...?! Don't you DO enough? Can't you just BE and relax?! Yeah, I've spent weekends in Bisbee and I like it. However, I don't go there wondering what to DO all day. A nice B&B or another hotel, walking, enjoying the scenery, and checking out the stores (the museum and the mine tour if for the first time) are all good enough for me.

Yes, but we are all different, and it is nice to have a stockpile of ideas of things to do in a new town, especially when you have children.

Oh, in this case there's probably not enough to do a whole weekend. Combining 2 places would be better. Tombstone can be combined with a trip to Bisbee nicely as well.

Yeah, I suppose kids need different entertainment. I don't think Bisbee is the best destination for them anyway.

Good point about Tombstone--I actually forgot all about it. But again, I found it isn't the best stop for really young children, but it sounds like the OP's daughter is a little older than my sons.
You are right about Bisbee, it isn't exactly a family destination. I was reading the newspaper and they had a headline about all the different things going on in Bisbee for Halloween. Well, everything listed was for adults only!

We took our boys to Tombstone when they were 12 and 17, and they were really bored with it. The "shootout" was okay, but there wasn't really anything else for them to do, other than wander the cemetary. They liked Kartchner Cave or Colossal Cave much better.

Wow. Really? My kids LOVE Tombstone. And so do we in fact. My son is 3, my middle daughter is 5.5 and my oldest is 8. And we've been twice. Once back in May I think and once in September. We have a great time. Granted we only spent about 4-5 hours when we were there each time. They are looking forward to the next time we go as well.

One day of Bisbee is about all I could take, milliebfit.
However, as others have posted, Tombstone is fun and while you're down there, don't forget Apple Annie's!
