We're moving to Tucson soon for a job at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. We're reserves, not active duty, so we need to find off-base housing.

I was wondering, where is the best area to live within a close range of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base?

Thanks!

PS: We're looking for a nice, middle class, family-friendly area to buy a house.

Post Try Renting First~

I would DEFINITELY rent before you buy. This will give you time to get a feel for the area, to make a choice best for your family. Most houses will allow you to rent for just six months, too.

Every family is different. Some folks find it most important to be within five minutes of the nearest E.R.. Others need to be within walking distance of a marketplace. Our family needs to be "away from it all" a bit. So what's right for some (in town) is not the best match for others (Vail). Again, I really suggest you rent first!
