The southern end of Tucson has many pockets of desirable areas to live, but one has to search for oneself and discover if that's what they prefer.

There is the far western end near Kinney Road and Bopp Road which includes Tucson Estates and would put you over near places like Tucson Estates, Old Tucson Movie Studios, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. There is also much residency along the Ajo Way corridor near that area as well.

Then you have the far south Sycamore Canyon Development off of Harrison and Sahuarita Road, Corona De Tucson area, Vail area and Rita Ranch neighborhoods.

There are those which could give you far more detail, but these basically are at the southern end of Tucson, as you asked.

Southern Tucson is the worst area of Tucson in my opinion. Lowest income housing and highest crime rates.

Sahuarita is cleaner, has lower crime, nicer houses and way better schools. Southern Tucson is cheaper and more convenient since you are just a few blocks away from fast food, restaurants, stores, etc. You also have to deal with the international airport in your backyard and they have a guard unit there with fighter jets which can be loud.

A drive from Sahuarita to Southern Tucson takes me less than 10 minutes on the highway where there are restaurants, and stores like target, home depot and a new theater. Sahuarita does have a brand new "Super Frys" which is a grocery store kinda like a super wal-mart. There is also a McDonalds, Subway, Shell gas station, and a coffee/ice cream shop. Jerry Bobs will be open soon which is a restaurant chain kinda like Denny's. Home Depot and a few other large stores are forecasted int eh next 3 years.
