Default "Its Rodeo Time in Ol' Tucson!"

Dear Mr Tucson: I was at Tucson International Airport yesterday and saw Wyatt Earp, his brothers Morgan and Virgil, Doc Holliday, and Bat Masterson standing there playing instruments and singing. Was I in a time warp? I thought they had all died in the 1800's? By the way, what a cute, retro little airport you all have here!
- Awestruck at the Airport

Dear Awestruck: Hey! I was there as well, and I heard these guys playing excellent country-flavored and bluegrass tunes! But, no... these gentlemen weren't the REAL Earps, Holliday, and Masterson. They were just one of the many local groups which TIA periodically places at the arrival gates for entertainment for arriving passengers and their families and friends.

However, I do believe that part of TIA's current theme is in preparation for the upcoming 84th Annual "Fiesta de los Vaqueros" - beginning with the longest non-motorized Rodeo Parade effective February 26, 2009!

Hey, have you ever heard the song, "Its Rodeo Time in Ol' Tucson"? I believe that Dean Armstrong and his Arizona Dance Hands may have recorded that song back in the 60's! Yaaahooo! Aaah, what memories...

Yours truly, Mr Tucson

Yep... back when I was a punk kid still in school back in the good ol' days, we always got off for Rodeo, beginning with the Thursday Rodeo Parade - then Friday! I'm pretty sure they STILL let the punk kids out...

Its the Wild West! You'd better wear your western garb... cowgirl hat and boots, or the like, that week!

The Jaycee's (Junior Chamber of Commerce) used to toss people in their little makeshift jail until someone bailed you out with a donation!
