Default Is Tucson the Convenience Store Capital of the World?

Dear Mr Tucson: Am I'm just seeing things? Call me crazy, but since I moved here, it seems that there is either a Circle K, a 7-11, a Quik Mart, a Pic & Run, a Toot & Moo, or every other assorted convenience store and spinoff thereof, ad nauseum... at just about every corner of the city. If it isn't right at the corner, then it'll be a block or so over! Not to mention the scads and scads of corner gas stations, and add to that their little mini-marts as well! Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Tucson the Convenience Store Capital of the world?
- Overwhelmed in the Old Pueblo!

Dear Overwhelmed: No, you're confusing Tucson with Taiwan. Boasting more than 9,100 convenience stores in an area of 35,980 km² and a population of 23 million, Taiwan has Asia Pacific’s and perhaps the world’s highest density of convenience stores per person: one store per 2,500 people or .000397 stores per person! With 4,665 7-Eleven stores, Taiwan also has the world’s highest density of 7-Elevens per person: one store per 4,930 people or .000203 stores per person! For your perusal, here is more info on convenience stores.

Yours truly, Mr Tucson

YES! Tucson is a convenience store capitol of the world! Pretty much at every street corner, you will see either a Circle K, a Quik Mart, a 711, an R & P Market, and a liquor store if you're lucky! But this is in the Tucson city limits, and the Flowing Wells Area. If you are lucky enough to live in the extreme Northwest side or Southeast side of town, you shouldn't see that many.

Dear Overwhelmed, educate yourself! Circle K is AZ's state tree after all!

I've personally dedicated a song to it long time ago! Do I have to do your homework for you?!

Oh, Circle K,
Oh, Circle K,
How red are your branches!

You lovely state tree of ours,
How sweet smell your flowers.
You grow great on every street
right by some nasty greasy eat!

Good thing I play along (for now...). I'd imagine his wife is sick and tired of it.
