Question where to stay??

Hello,

I am heading to tucson for a conference in March, a few of my co-workers and I are planning on staying for a few days afterwards but neither of us have been in the area before so we have no idea where the good parts of town are, whats conveniently located, parts we want to stay away from...etc.

We'll have a car and will have some planned activities in the day (suggestions are welcome!) but at night we'd like to stay somewhere where we can walk to a restaurant/bar...in a safe part of town..

Any suggestions would we welcome!! THank you!!!

Most of the restaurants on on Broadway which runs East and West through the center of the city. You might want to think about checking craigslist.com and rent small townhouse/cottage if you are staying for more than a day or two. Just stay away from the south side... anywhere close to the airport, except for right outside the airport on the main entrance road.

There are a ton of restaurants, stores and a mall on Broadway, including a ton of hotels. Do you know the area that your conference is in? Traffic is bad during rush hour and you might want something close.

Default Tucson Conference

Where is your conference being held at in Tucson? There are plenty of great places but no need to drive across town.

Well... the Tucson Marriott University Park: Hotel deals, rates and availability in Tucson near the University of Arizona is a relatively safe place and has restaurants located within walking distance. They also have bars within the area, but 4th avenue is where everyone goes and is considered the bar district for Tucson; it's about a five minute drive from the Marriot.
