Default enough is enough

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if all of you that live in AZ and I mean born and rasied there not the transplants sort of rescent that people from all over escipally from the East coast moving out there because of the hot weather and the people are suppose to be nicer (I personaly don't know I have never been). This is just a question that I wanted to throw out there. I know people that moved to AZ because it was cheaper and the people where nicer.

Remember this is just a question ( I'm not making fun!!!)

Default Everyone has that!

I can't possibly see why anyone would think they don't resent other people coming in. It's natural. Everyone knows what happens.

Cities are blind. They like to have more tax revenue, they entice businesses to come in for the tax revenue, then the resulting building requires much more services, requires more tax revenue, then they want more businesses to move in, then there are complications involving police and fire department services, more traffic, more pollution, more freeways needed, then more revenue is needed for more freeways, a tax increase for freeways is then imposed. traffic congestion impedes freeway construction, more road rage because of more transient people with their different driving habits, then like in Arizona water becomes a problem, housing goes up because of the market mushrooming, then more services are needed and the city just keeps on developing.
You can go round and round all day long with how this vicious circle goes on. It doesn't become inconvenient then for the people already here. It becomes a nightmare that they never saw before. Everyone has a right to be where they want but at what cost and problems in the long run?
Yes, cities in Arizona and the State have a plan alright. The only plan they have is to develop every square inch of this Valley. That's the great plan.

Default I am an AZ Native and....

I think I might resent the people who move here, at least a little. If I didn't know, or had never known, what AZ was like 60 years ago I probably wouldn't think much about it. I sometimes do "nostalgia visits" to places I've lived and it just makes me sad sometimes. I lived in Tucson from 1st through 5th grades while my dad attended U of A. I loved it back then. Small town atmosphere in the late 1940's, early 50's. I was sad to see my old grade school all boarded up and closed. I remember when it was brand new when I was in 4th grade. I have a lot of good memories of those days. We lived in So. Tucson back then and it was pretty nice.

I've lived in the Verde Valley most of my life and Sedona has gone to the dogs. I remember when there wasn't anything there but ranches and apple orchards. My dad owned a ranch there after WWII. The beauty is still there, in spades, but the hustle and bustle of the town detracts from it. I remember Jerome when it was a "boom town" and when it closed. I've watched this Valley grow and, just like everywhere else, it's changed enough to make me sad. But you can't stop "progress". All the places I used to play, as a kid, are now covered with houses, apartments and businesses. My old school is a museum. At least we don't have the bad crime and gangs here....yet. Basically we are still small town and I'm glad I live here.

Sedona has never been the same since the New Agers discovered it. I swear, I used to run those hills and hike all over and I never once discovered a Vortex. lol People building homes up there have a bad case of self importance and build bigger "mansions" all the time. I really miss the old Sedona when you could drive through slowly and really enjoy the scenery. Now you're too busy dodging, and watching out for, traffic! Slide Rock was our "playground" but you couldn't pay me to go there now. And when they put in a permanent e-coli check station that was it!

I wouldn't call it the "crummiest" of towns but it's changed enough I don't like it anymore. Prescott is another place but that's a different forum. lol
