I checked out who was going to be there, and it is sad to see only Circle K, call centers, healthcare, a Fry's store, and 1 school district (Indian Oasis Baboquivari School District on the Tohono O' Odham Indian Reservation) at the Job Fair. So, with that, I won't be going to this one if I want a part time job, I'll just fill out an application for the company instead of wasting my time and dealing with the downtown traffic just for jobs that are not worthy of being there in the first place. Best of luck to you all who are going, and if you have a Ph. D or a Nursing degree, may the force be with you.

Guess the 100 employer booths were attractive enough for thousands of people to brave the downtown traffic.

Wow! I just got back from there. I was taking my cousin who is looking for a job. I actually had quite the Tucson tour today. I had a showing at 10 on the East side, then I went to Three Points to see about taking a listing out there. Then I came back to the East Side to get my cousin and then headed to the TCC. The traffic wasn't bad until I got to the overpass at the end of Broadway before it turns into Congress. Sat there forevah. There were police helping to direct traffic and when we finally got to the CC, I asked the parking attendant if all of the traffic was for the job fair. He said yes and that it was much worse at 2pm when they "opened".

Now, I don't mind traffic since I am from NYC and that is some traffic!!!

Anywhoo, I hope "ihatetucson" didn't disuade anyone from going, there were plenty of businesses there looking to hire. 100 as a matter of fact and they were NOT all call centers, etc. My cousin got some positive information and was glad I took him. Certainly it was crazy crowded, but you only had to wait a minute or two to talk to someone at the booth. They also had areas where you could go and get job advice, get your resume checked, interview tips, etc.

I would say it was a success and in this economy, why not try every avenue if you are looking for a job!
