Default cross country skiing

Hello folks, I was wondering if there was any place around Tucson to go cross country or back country skiing. It doesn't have to be at a designated ski area like Mt. Lemmon. I would be happy with blazing my own trail but I need to know if there are places with enough snow. I'm guessing there may be places in the Coronado National Forest but I am not sure because I've never been there. Are there any other hard core skiers out there who could help me out? Thanks for your time.

Not that there's never been any of that stuff down here in the Tucson area, but there certainly may be much more of that sort of thing happening up around Flagstaff, AZ (7000' elevation). You might want to place this post up over in the Arizona section and see if anyone bites.

Or frostbites, as the case may be!

I thought mt lemmon got snow?

"Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley is located in Mt. Lemmon, Arizona, with 21 ski trails served by 3 lifts. Mt. Lemmon is located about an hour from Tucson and is typically open from December until mid-April."
