What is the purpose of the area just northwest of Picacho Peak on I-10, that has all the little tower-like things?

have been driving that road very often for the last 28 years and I can't place what you're trying to describe....

which side of the freeway?....how far from the freeway?....how far from Picacho Peak or the exit?....

you got me curious now!

EDIT: oh, are you talking about that weird playland-like thing several miles NW of Picacho Peak with funny robot things and "lookout" towers?....if so, I think it is a failed amusement park-sort of thing built during the last boom (2002-2005?)...I remember a "for sale" sign on it a few months ago.....

"...a failed amusement park-sort of thing..." sounds absolutely right, azdr.

Either that, or the landowner went completely nuts one day when he was out there under a VERY HOT sun!

Yes, the place is northwest of Picacho Peak on the west side of I-10. It has a tower at each end near the highway, and a few in a group with a cover in a hilly area near the center. I make the drive to Phoenix and back quite often, and this formation of observation towers has always puzzled me. They almost look like an observation tower, but the top is cage-like. Why? I often thought this complex may have been used to view wild animals. Or alien craft?
