For those who follow high school sports in Tucson...
How is the coverage here?
I ask, because I'll be starting up a high school sports website in Tucson. I won't mention the name unless someone asks, because I don't want this to sound like a plug.
But how is the coverage for football, volleyball, softball, cross country, etc.? What's missing?
I have a HS sports website in San Antonio that is thriving. I want to start up one in Tucson. It's where I was born, and I'm a PV graduate.
Any thoughts? Ideas? Again, only if it interests you. Thanks a bunch.

Coverage
Well, we've started up our high school sports web site for Tucson... looking forward to giving positive publicity to the area high school students. And it's good to be back in Tucson.

SA's biggest fan-I've lived in and visited many cities and towns, and I lived overseas twice. Also, I lived in San Antonio and Tucson on two different occasions. Nowhere else I've been are the people more into sports, especially football, as they are in San Antonio. High school football was/is a really big deal. In Tucson, I haven't seen much coverage of high school sports on the news. A couple minutes maybe during the sports segments, but even during the high school football playoff season, they don't seem to devote much time to it. Baseball is really big here in Tucson(majors and minors). And I see a lot of coverage of UofA sports including men's basketball, football, and women's softball. Not so much with high school level sports. I went to Judson and Sahuaro. Go Cowboys, Spurs, Rockets, and Cougars!

The tragedy with Tucson media is that high school sports have basically become an after thought - after college and professional. The newspapers used to be really great about it, and would even publish weekly cartoon forecasts on HS sports - especially football. They all have greatly declined in coverage since the 60's and 70's. Yuck!
