I am new to this forum but wanted to tell potential newcomers to Tucson about Catholic schools in the Northwest (Oro Valley, Marana, Casas Adobes) part of town. When we moved here 8 years ago, the "only" Catholic high school anyone talked about was in town. I spent years driving my kids into town and then I learned about a great school 5 miles from us...off Oracle Road at Magee: Immaculate Heart School which is K-12. My life would have been much easier, my kids would have had smaller classes, more opportunities for leadership and scholarships, etc.
Immaculate Heart's High School just won their second Academic Decathlon (state competition) in three years. The classes are small...ratio of something like 1:15. College preparatory classes in science are wonderful. I believe they have the only Astrobiology high school classes in Tucson. The dad of a former student just donated $1M to upgrade technology and facilities. The school is run by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and it has been in operation for something like 70 years. I only wish that someone had told me about the school when we were moving to Tucson. The school web site is
