Man, that stuff is horrible, baby1212. May I ask where you live? Sounds like an area to avoid.

To all those that hate this place on account of the crime, I have to say, if I lived in an area that had that much, I'd think it sucks too. First thing I'd try to do is move to a different area of Tucson metro (since I like the area in general).

If I didn't like the area at all, I'd be looking to totally move to a different area.

Much of this violence is a result of our changing demographics.

My favorite areas seem relatively crime free; Oro Valley, the Foothills, Tanque Verde area, and the far East side. I live in OV. It's not an issue for me right now, but I can sure see how it would be for those that live in a crime infested area.

That's not to say I don't like it... the excitement is kind of fun. The amount of crime does put me on edge a bit but it is a bit on the fun side! The sheriff is quite responsive so it generally works out.

Live in the Wetmore & Romero area. Not exactly by choice (I guess we all have choices but I'm somewhat tied down here at the moment.)

My neighborhood is also relatively crime free... only one reported theft for our entire section of houses after reviewing an entire year which was bogus checks. The next nearest housing section(roads don't connect) near our section has two minor domestic violence and one vehicle stolen also for an entire year. And yes I did zoom in closer which provides more crime listings with a refresh.

Every morning when I look out from my backyard across the way I do see a Sheriff vehicle which feels good too.

If you're relying on the map for that conclusion don't. It mostly covers the area within the city limits.

I'm talking relatively, actinic, and I feel confident that the areas I mentioned, relative to the rest of the city, have far less crime. Do you think that that assessment is wrong?

Correct, the crime infestation in the city makes relative improvement easy to accomplish though it still could be bad comparative to other cities.

Yes, it could be bad compared to other cities, but I highly suspect that OV, the Foothills, and possibly the Tanque Verde areas are NOT bad compared to the vast majority of other cities.

I've lived in the Foothills and OV and never, ever felt unsafe in either area. Haven't lived in the Tanque Verde area, but would not hesitate to do so.

There are many areas of town I'd flat out not live in, no question, but you seem reluctant to acknowledge that ANY area of Tucson is decent. I think your overall dislike for the place is coloring your opinion of nice areas.
