Small budget could be defined differently from one person to another.

How much do you want to spend?
What style furniture?

We bought a new dining room table and chairs from Sam Levitz. Love the table... the chairs suck. They aren't built very well and felt loose to the point where one completely broke (there's a little dent to the ego) and my husband had to drive screws into the others to reinforce them.

Depending on how much you need, it may be worth the trip to Tempe to Ikea.

Most less expensive furniture stores went out of business. There are 2 threads on this forum about furniture. Search for them. You can also try Big Lots on Tanque Verde & Sabino Canyon.

I'm surprised because many of their competitors bit the dust.

I was going to suggest Sam Levitz a day or two ago, but I held back. It all depends on your budget. Sometimes you'll get a great deal, and sometimes not. You really need to shop and compare.

Someone mentioned IKEA up in Tempe (near Phoenix0, and they have decent furniture as well, if you like particle board. My understanding is that IKEA means particle board, doesn't it?

Considering your needs are for such a short period, have you considered used furniture, a2000 . . . possibly Craigslist?
