yeah, I agree. It's probably the original one that came with the house back in 1945 or whatever (seriously).

But, it's okay because anyone can do anything for a year.

I agree, JillBo

My point was fairly simple . . . the new generation Swamp Coolers are as improved and efficient as the new generation Air Conditioners or Heat Pumps even though the principle is basically the same. Kinda like comparing a 50 plus year old vehicle with a new one.

Speaking of heat... I wonder if our heater even works. The place came equipped with a portable radiator in the bedroom closet. I hope that's not it.

Heating isn't nearly as critical as cooling, JillBo.

Get yourself a heated mattress pad and you'll be just fine. Simply request "breakfast in bed" on those chilly early mornings . . . problem solved.

I do have a heated blanket - I was worried I'd never get to use it out here. But what about my HUGE dogs?
