Something I should say, so that people don't get the wrong idea of what rust is like in Hawaii is that it differs greatly between different areas. I'm very near the ocean, on the windy side, and in between two tall mountains that channel the air, like how wind gets channeled between two buildings.
So I'd give my place 9 out of 10 as far as rust severity. There's places here that are almost desert that I'd give a 1 to. In Waianae on the other side of Oahu, they get less annual rain than Tucson. I've seen totally rust free cars here, it sure isn't the majority, but they are around. Seems like most people drive new cars though - where do kids get the money?
Sounds like Tucson has a 0 out of 10 rust coefficient... I'm jealous 'cause I'm doing some rust repairs on my car this week!
