Ticket question
So, DH was pulled over on Ajo today doing 67 in a 55.
The ticket has no info on it as to how many points/amount of the fine. There is a court date, and the cop said something about penalty being reduced if he attends a driving school. Does anyone have any idea about what the points/fine would be for this type of ticket?

It's been a very long time (knock wood) and I don't remember, but I believe going to traffic school at least saved me from a raise of the insurance premium. That's provided you haven't had a ticket in the past 2 (might've been changed to 1 and 1/2) years, though. I recall you posted about another ticket of his some time ago, though...
Good luck!

Nope, that wasn't me (luckily). He hasn't gotten a ticket since he was a teenager. I know back in Maryland, when you went to court you could plead guilty, not guilty or guilty with an explanation. Usually if you did guilty w/explanation, the sentence was PBJ - probation before judgement, which basically meant that you were on probation for a couple of years, and as long as you didn't get another ticket it was off your record. It just seems weird to me that the ticket has no info other than a court date.

A little brochure type thing should have been given to him with the ticket, explaining fees and options. If not you will have to either go to the Agency's website, or call them to get your hands on one.
I am guessing by the location, that it was PCSD that pulled him over? If that is the case you'll probably have to call them to find out more about it, their website does not have a lot of info: FAQ - Pima County Sheriff's Department

I'm guessing three points, fine depends on the jurisdiction somewhat.

Last summer I was caught doing 62 in 45 mph zone (this is on Oahu). I think the fine was $130.
The cop was a nice person and I asked him if there was anything I could do.
He said to ask for a trial, that there was a huge backlog in the system and that a prosecutor would ask me to agree to lesser speed/fine.
I got a court hearing date, went and the cop was a no-show, case dismissed, I walked. Youza!
Now there was a period of maybe 4 months that I admit, I find any kinda stuff like this stressful, and if I had tons of bucks I would have just paid it, but the cop's advice sure worked out!
The spot I got busted on was on a multi lane freeway where the speed limit is 65 mph and in one section they make it 45 mph for a 1/4 mile and only enforce it every once in awhile when they need money.

3 points sounds pretty hefty for 12 over. I don't know... guess we'll do a little digging and if nothing else, he'll find out on 9/15.

Just call the issuing agency, they will be able to help you find out the price and options.
