GRANT AND ALVERNON- THE METH DEAL CAPITAL OF THE SOUTHWEST
Notice all the shady people at the bus stops at Grant and Alvernon. Then notice that the majority of them never get on a bus. Watch all the sketchy adults on BMX bikes with black backpacks. They are not going to school, and those are not books.
Where are the cops? Shabby people carry or push shopping carts full of white unmarked bags down Alvernon. Up and down. Then see them passing items at the bus stops. Then the blacked out cars pull up all the time at that intersection and the traffic backs up.
Why does the city ignore this crime? This is the most disgusting meth head area I have ever seen. It needs to be cleaned up! The neghborhoods around Grant/Alvernon have steadily gone down hill because of all the addicts. And the traffic is still a mess.

dooooooooom
Edit: anyone who sits through one light at the intersection can clearly see folks getting on and off the bus.
Traffic backs up because there is too much for the intersection.
The quoted post is almost entirely false. I will not argue that there aren't addicts, there are - but in no more concentration than other parts of the city.

Look at the Crime map
Numbers don't lie. Grant and Alvernon is a crime magnet. You don't have to be a genius to notice that these are drug deals.

I think its because most people, when they hear SW Tucson think the Airport Area, 12th/Ajo, South Sixth, Midvail Park, etc.

It might be a a little further than a mile or two I just took a quick glance on the map.
Here is the hotel. I guess it just went through a remodel this year.

So what has the worst "social" stigma, Sahuarita or the SW of Tucson??
As I'd like to look at both areas one day, and I'm curious.
BTW, I'm down with the "bad" social stigma.
