I would recommend a scorpion exclusion which is a process of sealing the house to prevent the entry of scorpions and the like. it is a rather involved process because scorpions can climb most any surface so it is important to look over the entire home. I have been in the profession for some time, although mostly for termite control, so I have some experience. Many Tucson companies offer such a process.

Okay, I'm a pretty good housekeeper. I vacuum every day or so as I have two dogs and a 20 year old (not to mention dh who loves to eat while watching the games), I sweep, I wash the floors, the bathrooms, the kitchen, dust, etc.....

I have found one cockroach in darling son's bathroom , and today, I was washing the kitchen floor (stone) and moved the wedge rug under the sink and was met with a very fast scurrying scorpion. It went and hid in a corner, I got a drinking glass and a kitchen knife and managed to make it scurry back towards the main kitchen and instantly put the glass over it. Dh disposed of it by throwing it out the sliding door when he got home. So, it's still out there somewhere.

Now, whyyyyyyy am I getting these critters in my house? Annnd, today, I opened the garage door and popped the hatch of the car and a HUGE flying bug fell off the window and made a loud "plop" sound on the garage floor. I was so terrified, I couldn't move or make a sound. I just stood there staring at it in disbelief. Darling son says they're all over. They just fall out of the trees, they fall in the pool, everywhere, and they're big, brown, ugly, fat and disgusting with wings. They're the size of a wad of Silly Putty.

Okay, thanks for letting me rant. I am now spraying every window, door, and baseboard in the house to keep the critters out. I'm itching just thinking about them.
Sorry but I sounded exactly the same when I moved to Florida. Spend a few years there and Tucson is a breeze! You haven't lived until you've removed an alligator from your lawn.

As I'm sure everyone has told you, it's the desert. The large roach like bugs and many others are not affected by the sprays. Keep your house drains closed, your toilet lids down and make sure all food articles are kept in air tight containers. We moved into their homes not vice versa. Just be thankful you've yet to meet with a rattlesnake. They make bugs seem like childs play.
