Default Relocating to Tucson

Hi: I'm considering relocating to AZ after my stint here in beautiful Elda, Spain. I'm focusing on Tucson but don't know anything about living or working east, north, south, west, central. Is there any area I need to steer clear of? Also, what's the best way to go, move there first and then get a job or get a job first and hope I can find something? Thanks for the helping hand.

This frequently asked question is fairly easy to answer, Kim.

My recommendation . . . since commuting in Tucson is "less than pleasant" and moving is even worse, obtain temporary living accommodations (three to six months) or at least until you have located employment and become more comfortable with the good, the bad and the ugly here.

Good Luck and I hope this fairly simple answer helps with your complicated question.

Avoid South Tucson. Beyond that, it is hit-or-miss. Bummer gave you good advice. Find a six-month lease (or shorter, if you can), which will give you some time to get to know the area. That's what I did, and it worked out well for me.
Also, use the "Search" feature at the top of this page. There have been numberous threads about relocating to Tucson, and there's a wealth of information found within those threads.
Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Your suggestions makes perfect sense to me and really helps me focus myself more positively. I'll also check out the other threads in greater detail but I do appreciate the quick responses to at least get me headed in the great direction.
