Grocery Stores And Banks Etc. - Are They In Oro Valley & Catalina Foothills Area? (Tucson: condo)

If I as to buy a condo or house in either: Oro Valley, Catalina Foothills, Casa Adobes,Tortolita, or Cortaro - do any of these places have local banks, doctors, dentists, grocery stores -in each "town"/area OR do you have to drive to the actuall metro city of Tucson for that? Thanks

In Oro Valley there are many of each. Some of our grocery stores are Safeway, Albertsons, Wild Oats and Trader Joes. Banks include Bank of America, Bank One, and Wells Fargo. There are a couple large hospitals in the area as well as many individual doctors and dentists.

Catalina Foothills does offer grocery stores- Safeway, Bashas, Trader Joes, Wild Oats and AJ's being among them in various parts of CF. There are bank branches too- Chase, Wells Fargo, and B of A being in my immediate memory. There are also several eating establishments, everything your typical Starbucks and McDonald's to sit down, award winning dining rooms. Upscale shopping exists @ La Encantada, while the Tucson Mall- a very short distance away has the more mainstream but comprehensive selection. Each corner in CF has a variety of these essentials.

You don't have to drive into Tucson unless you want to shop at Sam's Club or Costco, both of which are on the NW side of town, or if you want to shop at outlet stores or go to nightclubs. Other than that, everything you need is already available in and around Catalina and Oro Valley. Casas Adobes isn't a town itself but a NW neighborhood in Tucson.

Oro Valley is growing by leaps and bounds - we have a brand new hospital and medical center, so healthcare is not an issue. It seems we have grocery stores and banks on every corner! A large shopping center project has just started as well.

The Cortaro Farms area (if that is what you mean by Cortaro) is just starting to experience major growth (last 5+ years), so things are still spread out and a bit less convenient, but getting there without the congestion in Oro Valley. Tortolita is just there - it is inbetween all sorts of things, but nothing specific to Tortolita. The Dove Mountain area, near Tortolita is just starting some growth as far as services - they just got their 1st grocery store in their first strip mall.

Casas Adobes area is off of major road, so has doctors, banks, etc, but in a higher congested traffic area. Catalina is just growing as well, but is close enough to Oro Valley for medical support with hospital and medical centers.

I work for the town of Oro Valley, so I can answer for here...
In just one shopping center we have the following stores/shops/services:
Conoco Gas station, Rubios Fresh Grill, Chinese Combo, Risky Business (restaurant and bar), Hair cut place, Dental place, Chiropractor (I go there.. ask for Dr Don!) Swimming pool supplies, Baskin and Robbins, Warehouse Vitamins, Sleep America, Hallmark, Radio Shack, Blockbuster Videos, ... then we have some fast food- Carls Jr, Subway, Burger King, Pizza Hut.. We have 3 banks in this center- a Bank 1 inside the Frys market, and also a Wells Fargo and an M and I bank. There are big stores, like Target, Ross, Pier 1 Imports, Pet Smart and Office Max. Then there is also a Home Depot across the street from this center (and a Starbucks, Papa Johns Pizza, Keva Juice, Quiznos Subs and a cleaners and copying place)
This is just one corner of Oro Valley where you can pretty much do everything in one stop. One Stop shopping is what I like !!

Alas, it does not. BUT... there is one very close by, in Marana (next town to the west of Oro Valley). In fact, the Sonic is down the street from where I live. I live about 10-12 miles away from downtown Oro Valley. Everything is so close by, even if it isn't in town.

Simple answer, Sunshine . . . YES!

There are plenty of businesses and banks near and/or within each community for you to spend or save your money. ! ! ! !

Actually Costco is on N. Grant, on the northeast side of town, close to the Catalina Foothills.
