I used to take my car to the Don Mackey dealerships, but now it seems it's Royal. I need scheduled maintenance and know nothing about Royal. Has anyone dealt with them? Why did Don Mackey fold?

I have never had car service at Royal, but I've dealt with several of the company's employees in a business capacity (no, there's no other familial or personal relationship). I was impressed enough with them as intelligent professionals to make Royal my first stop the next time I'm in the market to buy a car.

In this economic environment, I don't think it should be a surprise why any business is folding. There are not enough people who need or want material objects to justify the number of retail organizations there are here. The real income of Tucsonans has not increased in quite awhile and our population has not continued to grow in any significant way that would translate to increased -- or even level sales -- in any fields of business other than heathcare and security.
