Default Temple of Music and Art

Arizona Theatre Company
I get a little scared when I see the word TEMPLE used in the name of a venue. Brings to mind unique images of certain sects with a religious connotation associated with their organization.

I hope my fears are groundless in this case and this is not based in a sect.

Have a great day.
Joseph

Kevin J is on a distinguished road
It's an unusual name, but The Temple of Music and Art is unaffiliated with any religious institution, and as far as I know never was. "Temple" is just a name, and they very well could have named it the Center of Music and Art or the Institute of Music and Art.

It's just a nice building, very old by Tucson standards (80 years) that contains two theaters. The Arizona Theater Company, which owns and/or operates the building, is a non-profit theater company that has no religious ties either.

Actually, based on the past 80 or so years of great service to the community, I would never have had any problem... even if the Temple of Music and Art DID have a religious affiliation!

Why be fearful of such things anyway? Nobody would ever attempt to proselytize at THIS particular "Temple", and even if they did, religion has always proven to be one of America's greatest assets.
