Yes Bummer. I was wondering if I could find a place to leave the car on the US side and have my wife pick me up.

Exactly. Borders are unpredictable.

I don't think you understand. You have an hour and half drive to some place in Tucson not counting the border or getting to it at all! Or an hour at best to some place along the freeway. Nogales, Sonora, is not a small place itself and you won't be camping BY the border!

Still trying to decide but I am leaning towards maybe living in Tijuana instead. I do agree that the drive is too far to Tucson but Tijuana/San Diego have their own set of problems.

Have you ever seen THIS border? I think they have some special faster lane for frequent commuters, but TJ is a ZOO!

I went to TJ today to buy antibiotics. It took 45 minutes to cross back into the US via foot. But drivingwise, it looked like a parking lot. Traffic was at a standstill, and that was around noon.

You not only have to deal with Border traffic but the border check just past Tubac. Construction will be starting soon as well for a month or two and that will be backed up as well. It takes about an hour from Nogales AZ to the Tucson Airport - just as an example of timing.
