Dear Mr Tucson: Please help me! People keep telling me that Arizona doesn't have Daylight Saving Time! How can that be? Doesn't everybody have DST?
Signed: Freakin' in Fredonia!

Dear Freakin': With the exception of the Navajo Nation, Arizona does not recognize Daylight Saving Time! In fact, most Arizonans are clueless when it comes to DST and what we "need to do". The answer is: NOTHING! Just be sure you properly program those stupid smarter-than-thou SMART clocks! Don't let them outsmart you, or you'll be either an HOUR early or late for work! This year's DST Spring Forward time is Sunday, March 14, at 2:00 am.
Signed - Mr Tucson

Maybe everybody should
''spring forward" a half hour and leave it. DST really bugs me too.

I could care less, Zony . . . except it would be nice to be "in line" with the rest of the country.

Just an FYI . . . ask an Oldtimer why Arizona doesn't have DST and they'll probably tell you, "Arizona has enough Sun as it is" . . . as if DST increases the hours of actual Sun time.

Correct: There is no DST in Arizona with the exception of the Navajo Nation.

While everyone else is "springing" and "falling", we and Arizona simply get another drink and are happy.

Meh... I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like to go on DST.

Then I'm afraid you are going to have to move. I recall we voted on the issue many years ago - We are staying as we are.

As a native to Phoenix, DST really bugs me. I prefer not having it. 8 months out of the year, we are the same time as Phoenix. The other 4, we are an hour behind. Makes it frustrating when calling all my friends back in Phoenix.

mod cut: orphaned quote

Do you know the history of DST?

If you did, you would realize that there is no longer any reason for DST today
