WOO HOO! The first day of Spring!

I'm ready for some warmer weather, this week was wonderful. And I spotted a sure sign of Spring, a lizard sitting in the sun soaking up those warm rays. Other places look for robins, around here, lizards are the first sign of Spring.

I've noticed a lot of wildflowers too. The median on I-10 between Tangerine and Red Rock is covered with yellow, orange, and purple flowers. I also noticed some of the golden poppies showing up on Picacho Peak. This weekend would be a good time to just go for a drive and check out our beautiful desert. The mountains are all looking like giant Chia Pets.

Here's all the latest wildflower sightings...........

Lots of stuff to do, maybe a trip to the Renaissance Fair, that's a nice drive.

The air show at D-M is a lot of fun and the last weeks of Spring Training Baseball are upon us.

Yes, it has. Was out at Catalina State Park yesterday going off on obscure little side trails. It was awesome. These El Nino years produce just explosions of flowers. There were really large areas of those gold/yellow Mexican poppies all over the place and some little purple flowers too. Wished I'd had my camera with me.

Edit: Funny. I just opened up the link after I'd already posted, and those are in fact the exact flowers I saw all over the place.

Shotgun fixes rattler problems fairly easily.

And the ground squirrels have been out for at least a couple of weeks! No lizards yet. I don't blame 'em... it's not warm enough.
