For under 3 million dollars you can get a really sweet house, so the cost of living is great.

... please specify what are you up to (the field of work, ets.)
I would never ever go to Tulsa and THEN look for a job. It just does not make sense to me.

I agree, have a job before you move or you could end up in a tough situation.

Very hard to find employment here, or anywhere.

I've been looking for a position in the Tulsa area as well so I can move there. I echo the previous posters that it's tough to survive unless you have a job lined up or resources to fall back on. A rule of thumb is to have at least one months' worth of living expenses for every ten thousand dollars of salary you need. In your case there are moving and setting up expenses to consider as well.

You didn't disclose your salary needs and what kind of work you do. Generally, Tulsa lacks what I call "mortgage paying jobs." There seems to be service jobs and telemarketing jobs available. The unemployment rate in Oklahoma is lower than many areas of our country but Tulsa seems to have lower pay scales as well.

Housing is lower in Tulsa than in many places. That is a big plus. If you can find a decent job your expenses will be lower than say in New Jersey. You have the opportunity to grow. Of course you have to get that job- easy for me to say than to do.

More information would be helpful as the others stated. My daughter moved back a year ago and found a job in about a month. She's a phlebotomist and is going to school. She earned much more money with benefits in OKC, but hated it there. I think it depends upon what you can do and what you're willing to accept for pay.

Tulsa has improved over the last 25 years, but lacks in many areas like a good or even acceptable public transit system. There's a predominately extreme right wing mind-set here, too. I can count at least 7 churches within a 1/2 mile of my house near downtown. And that isn't counting the ones downtown!! If you like stinky, sticky 6 month summers and wacko politics you'll fit right in.

There are some good companies in Broken Arrow that are expanding and adding employees. FlightSafety and Air Hygiene both announced expansions recently. I would call around to the local Chambers of Commerce. They might be able to point you in the right direction.
