Default Can anyone tell me about the downtown area? Is there re-urban development occurring?

Is there re-urban development occurring? What is the Tulsa school district like? What about housing in the 30 - 50th street area?

I am a math teacher that has a job opportunity in the district and 2 children that would attend...

Would you put your babies in this school district?

Thanks for any advice you have for me,
Mathmama

I've been told by ny husband's boss (they work in Tulsa), that the Tulsa school district isn't a great district mainly because of overcrowded classes and poor parent/teacher participation. I would try to get hold of the school itself and ask questions about their programs,student/teacher ratio, etc., I am very picky when it comes to my daughter's schooling, we always want the best environment for them! Good luck, do your research!!!!!

Tulsa schools vary greatly based on the school. Booker T Washiington is often ranked as one of the best high schools in the nation. As an urban school district, it faces urban school issues and doesn't have the $$ like the subruban districts have. It may not be the best district overall but it is very, very, very far from the worst districts in the U.S.

Oh, yes, and the urban redevelopment is starting. Big things will be completing/starting late 2007 and in 2008. By 2010, Tulsa will be a much more vibrant city.

Default About Downtown Tulsa

Downtown Tulsa, is making drastic improvements....New Arena, nice lofts (but from word of mouth pricey) nightlife, restaraunts and entertainment...Tulsa is going thru great changes! I grew up here, and moved to Dallas which of course will never compare but Tulsa is getting there slowly but surely.....Only complaint about Tulsa is they need to have afterhours dancing at there nightclubs! seems like all shuts down at 2:00 am but other than that lil glitch Tulsa is Fabulous ((((South Tulsa Is the Growing Part of Town,,,New Housing Developments Going in ...Everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!
