We don't typically get snow storms like the one happening Feb. 01, 2011. We get snow, and once in a while we get 10-12 inches of snow, but today is more than a foot at my house. It's the ice that usually weighs down on the electrical lines that causes most of the outages. I wasn't worried about this storm as they predicted snow, not ice, where I live.

I remember it dropping to -11 or -14 sometime in the mid-nineties. I loved it. We stayed out sledding most of the day.

The two worst ice storms in Tulsa that I remember was Dec. 24, 1987 and Jan. 2007. Lost electricity for a couple of days in 87' and for 5 days in 07'. I was one of the lucky ones. In 07' it was so bad throughout much of the state that electrical crews came from Georgia, and Alabama, and probably other states, but I remember we cheered to see them. LOL, I even got to help one crew from AL find some places around the neighborhood as they obviously didn't know the area.

I'm enjoying this snow. I went out earlier and took a walk. No one was out and maybe only one person had been out in a vehicle. It's hard to walk in, but a great work out. The snow was just below my knees.
