It is a fascinating subject. The Seminole museum in Wewoka has some books I like to buy and read.

Is that near or in Tulsa? I'll have to check it out too.

No, it's not near Tulsa. If you did move to Tulsa I think you would enjoy a visit to the area.

I just found out tonight that my uncle and aunt have retired and are living outside of Tulsa, Claremont, I think. So I have one more reason to look in that direction. I got the map today so will start asking questions soon on what's where in terms of finding a room or campsite to stay in while looking around and getting familiar with the area. Where is Wewoka from Tulsa?

, live in south Tulsa. The crime rate here is low, no car break-ins ever, but I guess it depends on the apt community. Just find a decent place, if it looks shady, don't rent...There's plenty of gated communities, check out Woodland Oaks on 71st and Woodland Hills Mall area, very nice place, great service and good security. I miss that place, great apartments. |

It must be that Claremore is where your aunt and uncle reside. Are you camping in an RV/travel trailer or tent? |

Before I leave, I'd like to find a room with weekly rates, if possible. That would be the most comfortable. Otherwise, camping in my van is fine if there are bathing facilities, an electrical hook-up and, hopefully wireless access somewhere nearby. KOA looks pretty high ($), so I hope to find a room to rent in town or very near on a weekly basis while checking things out. I saw one mobile home park listed on the net that I think has spaces for RV type set ups. It looked to be in town, so that's one place to check out. What is autumn like in Tulsa? I've been out west for several decades and am looking forward to seeing the seasons change again. |
