Default Help with location?

Hi,
My family may be relocating to the Tahlequah area of Oklahoma for a job. We don't want to live in Tahlequah (too small). Could you help with bigger locations within a reasonable drive (30 minutes to 40 minutes commute)? We're coming from Ann Arbor Michigan (home of the University of Michigan), 2 dogs, 2 cats, wife (professional, upper level HR), a son (starts freshman year this year, loves football and baseball) and a daughter (3rd grade). Would prefer private schools but consider public (they've only ever gone to private schools...Catholic). Thanks, moving soon (within the month and bringing the family down in June) if the offer goes well. Zip codes would be helpful too as we need to find housing.

Thanks in advance.

I believe Muskogee would be the only bigger town 30-40 minutes away, but honestly I think you would like Tahlequah better. I'm not totally familiar with Muskogee, but I don't believe it would really have that much more to offer even though it's bigger.

No, no I would not look at Muskogee. You may want to look at moving to the eastern reaches of Broken Arrow. you would be looking at a commute of about 45 to 50 minutes or 59 miles. 32 miles of it would be the Muskogee Turnpike where the speed limit is 70 MPH. And the rest is HY 62/10 a 4 lane with a speed limit of 65 most of the way into Tahlequah. Its not quite a straight shot but faster and better than taking HY 51 through Wagoner and Hulbert. And Hulbert is notorious for being a speed trap.

Broken Arrow or BA as it is sometimes called, is Tulsa largest Suburb and I think now is the 4th largest city in Oklahoma with about a 100K. Its a nice suburb, very affordable and low crime. Its a little on the churchy side but I know a lot of people who live there that don't seem too bothered by that.

It would be the only place I can think of that would come close to what you mentioned on you post.

There is a regular poster on here called BAguy who is an expert on Broken Arrow. He would be very helpful.

Tahlequah is a very nice little college town, but it is pretty isolated.

That's true, BA/Tahlequah wouldn't be that bad a commute due to the turnpike. That would probably be the best option.
