Why Many OK Homes w/o Insulation?
Realtor.com has many home listings in NE OK that describes no insulation. Can anyone tell me why that is? Since most are older homes and obviousely have gone through many owners in its day, I have to wonder if insulating fails to be an option for some reason? Access problems or something?

Every home that I've been in has insulation, save the very old ones out in the country that were built before that was an option. Even those were insulated in some manner though, just not up to the standards we have today. Are you talking about attic insulation and insulation in the walls?
I've never looked at "insulation" as an option on a real estate listing so I'm not really quite sure what you're talking about. Can you go into further detail?

It looks to be an averge of about 2 or 3 homes for evey dozen lisitings that says "no insulation" in the description of the home's interior. I've yet to get a response from a real estate agent to that question, or any of my questions actually, when I respond directly on the realtor.com site. Apparently I will have to call agents rather than email thu the site. In any case, I've not been impressed with the manner that agents fail to respond to inquiries on that site.

I have yet to see any listings that say no insulation. I have seen some that say extra insulation as a feature. What are the ages of the houses your are looking at? I would suggest not using realtor.com because it's not usually up to date and it is harder to get in touch with the realtors through that site. Try cbtulsa.com which is for Caldwell Banker or remax-tulsa.com for Remax. Those are the two that I mainly use. The CB site can run slow sometimes though.
If you are going to be moving to Tulsa I'd recommend going ahead and getting an agent there. I love ours. He's very patient and willing to spend as much time taking you to see houses as you need.

tulsarelo, thanks for the 2 real estate sites. They are very helpful. It is older homes that "no insulation" is divulged, but as I said, I'm sure the older homes have gone thru enough owners that someone would have insulated along the way you'd think. Hopefully an agent will be able to answer that question for me during my house hunting process.

Agents can definitely be a hassle, but if you find the right one they are like gold. Keep using resources such as the one tulsarelo recommended, and I'm sure you'll come across a good one. I wish you the best of luck!
