Crime rates are usually collected at specific intervals, so I wouldn't know what the crime rate is any given day. You may look at the Tulsa Police website and that may provide you with some answers.

LOUISIANA'SLEGEND is on a distinguished road
I wish i could show you what a good area in Louisiana looks like in comparision to what you called a bad area. Trust me you got it good. The area looks so lickable, lol. Someone tell me how to put picture up, is it a rule against putting my louisiana pictures up? You guys gonna make me feel like I'm a king in the worst area of Tulsa the way you guys are talking, but I'll prolly go whats best for my situation.

Yes, I've heard people in Tulsa who are from other parts of the US laugh at people in Tulsa when they say the North side is "bad." They say that North Tulsa is tame compared to areas like East St. Louis and others.

To post a picture, you first need to choose the source. If that's an uncopyrighted picture on the Internet, you merely click on the picture to enlarge it (if it is a thumbnail) and then 'right click' (not an ordinary left click) on the photo with your mouse. From the drop down menu that comes up, select "Copy Image Location" or something to that effect.

Then, return to the CD forums and respond to, or start a new thread. Above the message box you'll see a square yellow icon (third from the right).

Click on that and it will prompt you to enter a URL. Erase the "http://" that's in there and then (with the cursor blinking in the box), press CTRL-V (paste) and then click on OK.
Repeat the process for more pictures.

Now, if you want to load up your own photos, you'll need to sign up for a free flickr or photobucket account (it's easy). Upload all of your pictures there and then follow the process above for posting them on City Data.

Good luck, we'd love to see your photos LL!

PS. Those areas that I posted weren't meant to show the bad areas of the Northside, those were taken in the Greenwood District, a historic district in North Tulsa. I think Greenwood is a beautiful area. Still, Tulsa's bad areas are nowhere near as bad as most places.

However, there are shootings and the police are afraid to go into some parts because residents have been known to fire shots at police when they go in after a suspect.

About six months ago a near riot occurred when this happened at a local park up on the North Side. Police had to call in all kinds of reinforcements because they were being attacked by some of the residents as they were arresting a suspect who had shot and killed another person in the park.

I attended school in North Tulsa from 1996-2003 and I have seen nothing but positive changes in North Tulsa. Yes, you have your "bad" areas like 46th and Cincinatti, but I think that you hear about crime in North Tulsa much much more than you do about other bad areas like 61st and Peoria. I also found that the people in that area were much more willing to do kind things for each other as well as watching out for others. I almost bought a house at the bottom of Reservoir Hill and there are some real bargains if you are willing to "take a risk", but as I have seen in some places in Kansas City, tulsa has it good.

Geographically, yes.

As far as socio-economically, no. The earlier definition of Pine/Cincinnati/Harvard/ as the South/West/East boundaries is closer to that.
