I agree jammie, in fact it is the retro payments that we are hoping for to get us out of Florida. That and we will need the guaranteed monthly income since I will have to leave my job here. We want to try to buy a house with four bedrooms and enough room to have a "school/therapy room".I have seen a few online that I am hoping are still available to kook at once he gets approved.
We have a small mobile home here and my daughter and I do her school work sitting side by side on the loveseat in the living/school/computer/extra bedroom.I am hoping for a eat in kitchen and a dining room that I can use for school since I hope to be home schooling two, kids.

We are looking at the suburbs of both Tulsa and OKC. We are very impressed with the crime rates for the suburbs.

Yes, actually even though Tulsa itself seems high crime to someone like me, who lives in a small area, it's actually low compared to a lot of cities. AND their real estate is very reasonable so the right house will be there for you when you move.

Right now we are in Marion County Florida in a small town. The county seat is in Ocala and the crime rate there is about 6.75 for a small city of a little over 40,000. I think that is VERY high for a city of its size.Of course being in a small town there are NO homeschool groups here. If I want new curriculum I have to go to Citrus County.I do not even like Ocala.

There are several very large homeschooling groups sponsored by the various churches. You might want to contact Church on the Move or Grace Fellowship to name two that I know of. Both Grace and COTM have excellent church sponsored schools and really dynamic children's ministries as well. Also, special needs children are well taken care of with individual planning in Owasso, BA, Jenks and Union schools. I would tend to avoid the Tulsa School system. but the bedroom community schools are nothing short of excellent.

I just checked the phone book, and there is a store called TRISMS Homeschool Curriculum. their phone number is 918-585-2778 and they are located in the 1200 block of S Delaware Pl. I did not call them and do not know anything about them, but I would imagine they could point you to any groups that provide assistance to special needs homeschoolers.

In Tulsa, there is the Learning Shop. You can purchase all types of curriculum for all ages & Mardel Christian book store. As far as schools go, Bell Elementary School does have programs for add, deaf etc. & T U might also be a good contact for you.

Default Well we got the decision on hubbys Disability

And it was "Unfavorable".He will have to file ANOTHER appeal. In the meantime we are gonna be stuck here in Florida which I am really starting to hate.Looks like we are going to have to go with plan B or maybe a plan C to get us to Oklahoma.

Oh, I'm SO sorry to hear that. Don't be discouraged though cause they normally turn people down the first time. Not sure if I mentioned this, but I know someone who was turned down the first time cause they didn't make it to their hearing. They were still in the hospital recuperating. Now how weird is that?

But just keep thinking. There are generally more ways to do things then just one. Just takes some hard planning and thinking. I really like OK, too, but at least you're in a pretty place and it's warm there.

Actually, this was not his first time getting turned down. He applied, got tuned down, got discouraged and did not listen to me then re-applied. Turned down again, this time got an attorney. Put in a request for reconsideration and was denied, so the attorney put in for a hearing with an administrative law judge. So if you count all of that he has so far been turned down for Disability four times. We have been trying for over two years now.

I think we are actually in one of the most unattractive parts of Florida. No decent beaches unless I want to drive for two and a half hours. We do not want to go THAT bad.The county seat of the county we are in has a large percentage of run down areas that are just plain ugly.If I just wanted a prettier part of Florida it would cost a lot more money than either Tulsa or OKC and Florida has horrible crime indexes for its major cities.

Your friend was still in the hospital when their hearing was held? Wow, that must also mean that they get their hearings a lot sooner there than they do here. It took my husband over a year. It is weird ( and stupid) that they denied him/her because they could not make it to the hearing on account of being in the hospital recooperating.

As for our weather well....I always say we have four seasons.

Season #1 It's hot
Season#2 It's still hot
Season#3 Dang it's hot.
Season#4 OH MY GOD IT'S HOT!!!(This is in July-August)
