I went to Union so I know all about huge high schools. I'm willing to bet that by the time pastorsson's kids hit that age, BA will wise up.

Personally, I find Jenks a bit snooty and expensive. But to each his own.

I asked a friend -- super smart teacher at Tulsa Public -- which schools are standouts. She said Carnegie, Eliot, Patrick Henry, Kendall-Whittier, Edison, Memorial, and the magnet schools are all consistently strong. She has kids, so it's not just hypothetical -- she'll send her kids to TPS. greatschools.org has positive ratings and reviews of these TPS schools. If we move, I think we will look for a house in the LaFortune Park area, near 51st and Yale, which is the Carnegie area.

You are beyond awesome. Thanks so much! Now I just need to see where these school's districts are, but I'm sure that info is on line too.

You need to take that back. Folks start thinking we are friendly or helpful others might decide to move here and then we will be another place where people want to live and it gets crowded and and I end up cranky. Make that crankier. So if you find something about this part of the country you like, please keep it to yourself.

Lol. I very much do love Oklahoma. I was born and mostly raised in California, but my Oklahoma roots actually run much deeper. Like many others, I'm only a Californian due to the Dust Bowl.

I've always felt like home was two states--CA and OK. And frankly, at this stage in my life, I'd take OK over CA any day!

Update: things are plodding along, and it looks like we will probably move to Tulsa in a year or so. The MIL is still digging in her heels and refusing to listen to anything, but where my children go, she will follow.

I need someone to talk me down though--I'm looking forward to living in OK again, except for 1 thing: those HOT summers!! Tell me something good...
