Please be aware of a company selling sugar gliders/sugar bears at Woodland Hills this weekend. This company is a "mill" for these animals and sell sick animals. I saw them dispose of one this morning before they opened. They charge hundreds of dollars and then disappear from the area to go on the road to the next mall. The owner is a millionaire in Cape Coral, FL who uses this business to profit and rip people off. The poor animals die from stress and malnutrition. When I was talking to a prospective customer to inform them, the sales man came over to me and told me to leave. They know they are in hot water as it is. There is no legal recourse since they make you sign a contract. If you have to have a sugar glider, go to a reputable breeder. Also, these exotic animals need a lot of care and you must use an exotic animal vet if they get ill. The Pocket Pals sellers will NOT tell you this.

They travel around the country from mall to mall selling these exotic animals which do poorly as pets. There have been other local news stories about them in other states as well as interviews with both veterinarians and breeders stating how to never purchase one on impulse like this company sells them. The sales guys are like car dealers; fast talkers and showing off the animals flying into their shirt pockets which looks impressive and cute. The contracts look very long and detailed and I'm sure include clauses that say you can't sue them or get your money back.

My sister had one of these a few years back. It was a disaster! They are wild animals and do not make good pets. Her sugar glider ended up chewing his own back legs off.

What about the animal? I'm not familiar with this pet, but if I had a sick animal, the last thing i'd worry abour is getting my money back!

Default wtf

Gliders make great pets 1st off! 2ed off if you don't know the proper diet and cage requirements then this is not a pet for you. I have a few and love them! I rescue them and see lots of impulse buys. Please read about them! Pellet food is not a good source of nourishment.
