We're looking at a house on the extreme northwest of the Turley neighborhood. (I know the neighborhood is one of the higher ranked ones in the crime category, but this house is literally surrounded by fields and forest land so we're considering it.)

I noticed that there is a large former elementary building (I think Grimes?) close by. Does anyone know what's going on with these buildings? Just wondering as far as it becoming a magnet for graffiti, vandalism, etc.

Grimes is on the south side, I'm not sure what school you are talking about. TPS is selling the sites as they can. There's probably about zero demand for that building in the Turley area. High crime, falling population, lots of empty buildings.

And Turley isn't a neighborhood. It's an unincorporated town, it's outside the city of Tulsa.

Hmm. I'm not sure what the school was then. It's on the corner of E 63rd St N and MLK Jr Blvd. I looked at it on Google maps, but the lettering's been removed so I can't read it.

I'm a Tulsa noob, lol, had no idea Turley was an unincorporated city. The house we're looking at is zoned for Gilcrease Elementary in Tulsa.

Since Turley is an unincorporated city- Any idea on the zoning laws? Specifically in reference to small farm animals?

I would guess you can have whatever you want, but you should call the county to be sure.

What's a Tulsa noob?..........

When I was growing up in North Tulsa I had a friend who lived across the street from me. His family came from Turley Oklahoma " way out in the boomdocks " pure unadulterated country living.

You can have chickens within the Tulsa city limits I can only imagine what you can have in Turley Oklahoma.
