I think the Arena's big enough, but I doubt if there are enough hotel rooms in the immediate area. I do think we should be aggressively marketing for large conventions.

Those are great pictures New. Thanks for posting them. I do hope the new arena brings in the large conventions.

Haven't been down there during the day enough recently; looks like they've got that last shipment of glass for the wall in; as it appears they are replacing the plywood with it.

One thing that seems curious to me is why they're apparently making Elwood (or Frisco, maybe) on the west side of the Arena ONE WAY, and one lane wide, or that's the way it looks right now. For out-of-towners circling the Arena looking for a place to park, if they take the one-way-west street on the north side of the building, it will spin them out into the inner dispersal loop. I see disaster ahead if they throttle that street down to one-way and one-lane.

Thanks for the arial pic Big. New, I agree with you. Maybe you can bring this up to someone with the city? Some city engineer or something. That doesn't make sense. Good observation too.
I just LOVE the way that arena looks; everything about it. I want to be there for the first event, and I live in Texas.

It's frisco and I am pretty sure it was one-way south previously. Most likely it will be meant to handle traffic coming off the 2nd street offramp just west of the arena and guiding them south to the civic center parking garage.
I noticed in the last picture posted above that there is already a retaining wall going in (bottom of the picture) which is part of the landscaping for the arena. Pretty impressive they are even thinking of landscaping already. That same wall can be seen on the far left of this picture:

Very good and very impressive. This is going to be the crown jewel of Downtown Tulsa. I can't wait until the rest of downtown livens up, but this is a great start.
