I didn't know that the entrance on the southwest side of the Arena is a VIP entrance.
I guess that's where you enter if you're lucky enough to have a loge box..
The VIP entrance takes you to VIP level which features loge boxes, suites, and I think the club seating uses that level as well. Has it's own restrooms, etc. Seperate VIP entrances are pretty common amongst arenas like this one.

OK, I have a bit of a comparison shot now:

The angle's not exactly right, but it's pretty close. My new car in the foreground (red one).

Isn't it amazing that both the artist's rendering and the architectural model are so close to the real thing? The only difference I see is that they're putting the steel "shingles" on the base of the iconic wall - which is really giving it the "finished" look, and they're running them parallel to the ground floor (which really adds to the expense, too), and not with the slope.

The project manager told me they're waiting for the next shipment of glass for the iconic wall, and several more entrances, and then they can finish up the glasswork.

Wow, that's a great angle BigOkie. Almost exactly the same as in the model. What's your shiny new car?

First (and only so far) brand new car I owned was an Avenger. I bought it in 2000 though, which was the last year for the Avenger until just recently. Plus, it was coupe then. I've rented a couple of Avengers when travelling. I enjoy being able to rent a zippy car (with a sunroof) after spending 5 hours in one place.

BigOkie, thanks for furnishing that link to the webcam (page 14). It's saving me a heck of a lot in gas money! Here it is again for anyone who needs a live fix:

Anyone notice the big chrome "BOK" logo planned for the wide sidewalk from the corner? Why can't they move "Amity" to the site and use it instead? I think it would be perfect.

I'll be down there again probably late Saturday morning for more photos, in case you show up down there, Prue.

It's a crap shoot whether or not they have the parking garage open. The Talons play Saturday, so it's possible it will be open. Level 6 on that garage gives me some of the best angles. I might also try the garage east of the arena at 2nd and Cheyenne if it's open.
