I bet I could come up with something more interesting architecturally than that. I've got a couple I really like but I'm going to sell them at Mayfest this year.

Not much visible progress on the exterior, but it looks like they're getting ready for the fine grading prior to pouring concrete for sidewalks, etc. The planters have been filled and the base somewhat leveled...a LOT of work seemingly remains to be done on specialty items like end caps, flashing,etc., and they're putting siding on the backside. I guess the area above the iconic wall will be last to be shingled..

I surveyed the arena site from every angle and location I could get to today--from the L.L. Tisdale, to the Mayo parking garage--and it's bad news for photographers! This structure is not going to be conducive to that "great" shot, the one that you could market to magazines, etc.--unless you have access to a Cessna (ahem, bigokie..) or a helicopter, or the roof of one of the buildings nearby. Just too many telephone lines, warehouses, and other clutter. Now, if you have the right wide-angle lens, you might be able to get one from the intersection on the SE corner. Otherwise, like I said, you better have access to a Cessna--or a cherry picker!

I'm gonna give Flickr a try. I have only used Photobucket in the past, but I have set up my Flickr account (hopefullly) and intend to post my pics there, as others have done. I'm finding Flickr kind of complicated, as far as posting pics into a particular group. But we'll see how it goes. Tomorrow evening, all my pics should be in Flickr. And I can't wait to see everybody else's, too!

If you use the flickr uploader, it is much easier.
