More renditions of the arena (inside and out). Scheduled to open in 2008.

Awesome! Finally Tulsa gets something big-city-ish. Wish I was there to see it happen...but then again, I'm happy here in Michigan. (I'm one of the few).

All of the above Jammie. I think they hope to attract some NCAA tournaments, concerts, in addition to the local sports teams playing there (Tulsa Talons, Tulsa Oilers, etc.).

And jeff, I could see myself being happy in Michigan. I would probably move further south during the Winters but Michigan is pretty. My wife and daughter will be in Detroit at the end of the July for a competition my daughter will be in. I might PM you at some point to ask about areas for the best hotel. The last time they went to Birmingham for a competition and stayed at a hotel with a hole in the door for the peephole. Not joking!

Yes, Michigan is beautiful, despite all the problems it's dealing with. I'm one of the ones just holding on for dear life and praying we all land on our feet!

Please do feel free to PM me with any questions, I would be more than happy to help if I can.

Were your wife and daughter staying in Birmingham itself when they experienced the peephole? If so I'm surprised because B'ham is one of the richest areas here! Very upscale!

Oh, that was Birmingham, Alabama jeff. Not knowing the area there, she booked what she thought was a nice hotel (nothing expensive; can't afford that), and found out that it was kind of seedy and not in a great area. I don't want them to be stuck in something like that in Detroit, so I want to find out from a local if a certain hotel or area is okay. I'll PM you with the details later unless we can confirm that they'll be staying in a Marriott or something that we know will be up to standards (i.e. no holes in the door. )..

Its just not a destination for sports other than golf/southern hills. The population is just to small to cut it-250,000 not enough support big time events. southern hills is just so beautiful they cant help but to have huge 'golf' tournaments there. Tulsa u is ttowns best asset.
Wrong, the MSA of Tulsa is around 930,000; city proper is approaching 400,000

I think the seating capacity is around 18,000 mokuton. As far as facilities, I'm not sure what you mean there. I'm sure it has the standard fare, vendor booths to sell food, bathrooms, luxury boxes, and so on.
