Good idea New. One of you Tulsa natives should have a hand in that!

So, let me get this straight. The pre-grand opening, with choir, etc. is at 3 p.m. on August 31? And free? This means everyone interested can get a free walk-through? Because, man, I could spend an hour or two loitering around, checking out construction details, even if I couldn't care less about the "many voices" of the religious activity going on in the bowl.
And I just had a second thought (question): How do they plan to have this "grand opening" on Aug. 31, and have Aerosmith set up their sound equipment, etc. the next day, on Sept. 1?

The opening band (not Aerosmith) plays on the 4th I believe.

Great pics. Just learned the black letters actually glow white in the dark because the black is actually a perforated material. There is also an identical sign to the one on the SE corner that will be installed in the NW Side. they finished the SE corner big sign and the stainless on the top fin today.
I'm curious to see when they start building the Marquee.

From what I read, it's perforated vinyl...

Great pictures, bigokie! I see now what they've planned for the paving blocks at the Parkade corner...bricks. Was wondering what they were going to do around the edges of those block...now I know: there won't be any edges! Looks good. And they've started the sidewalks down the street beside the retaining wall -- I hadn't noticed that before. They've got a massive landscaping job and bricklaying job ahead of them - coming around the side and at the main entrance. Guess they'll have to get that glass finished on the "Wall" first, though. And can't wait to see if they add a hundred more trees, like the model...
I believe some of those small concrete pedestals around the building are for lights. I really hope they cascade lights from each, or onto each, "face" of the building, to delineate the various facades. I'm sure they will do it right; they continue to amaze and surprise me...

Nice pics as always BigOkie. The building really looks to be coming along well. Thanks.
