i hate to sound like a negative type person but.
Why did they have a huge glass area?
earlier this year or it may have been last year. BOK building was hit with 55mph wind gusts which actually moved teh windows enough fro them to fall out or shatter..

Just curious why they did that....

Wow. The building looks amazing. Perhaps it will be worth all the whining I've had to listen to over the cities' plan to upgrade downtown rather than the thriving suburbs.

I guess the glass is part of the design to make it flashier. I understand that those panels have undergone wind tunnel tests at different facilities and are rated to withstand very strong winds. It does appear that it would make it vulnerable to tornadoes though. I'm sure they took that into consideration when they designed the thing.

After driving by the new arena today, I notice they're putting up some BLUE siding. That's
not the finished look, is it? I was thinking insulation, maybe...

It's probably blue covers over the glass to protect it from all of the construction going on around it.

No, there's a blue film on the stainless steel skin panels they're installing for protection.

The BOK arena is coming along quite nicely. There's a lot of work left to do before
the glass can go on, though. Since both the webcams seem to be on the blink, I
thought I'd offer this photo, taken today:
