How often schools close due to weather?
Going to be moving out there this summer from South Florida. Since we've never lived in icy or snowy conditions, was wondering how often and what kind of conditions do the schools close for weather-related events such as snow and ice?

I too am moving to Tulsa from S. Florida. What part of the state are you in, if you don't mind saying. Why are you moving to Oklahoma? Would love to know if it is the same reasons as me.
Hope you have a good move, and prosper there!

Well, you can never tell about Oklahoma. Some years you will get a lot, and some years maybe nothing at all. Tulsa does get a decent amount of snowfall each year; I think the average is around a foot. So, some years you might get 2 inches, and some years you might get 24 inches. You'll definitely get more than in Florida!

This is the place to get the answers to all your questions. Like I said in my PM I am biased toward Tulsa, but here you will get nothing but the truth. I was wondering if you've noticed a lot of people moving out of your area to other states as well. I live in a C.C. and the number of houses going up for sale is increasing. The 2 houses across the street, and one next door, have all gone up for sale in the last 3 months alone. And that doesn't even touch the ones that are on the water, or the golf course. I could go on but I digress, is it the same where you are as well?

Oh yea~those pics look like it was a bit chilly there. You're so lucky because it sounds like it melts in just a matter of days there.
I think that you folks from Fla. will notice that there is a tremendous cost of living difference between the two states.
